At PPYSA, the safety and well-being of our young Bearcats will always come first. We are committed to providing a positive, safe, and supportive environment where every athlete can learn, grow, compete, and have fun.

We take a proactive approach to athlete safety. All PPYSA coaches are educated on concussion protocols and understand the importance of recognizing potential signs and symptoms and responding appropriately when an athlete may have suffered a concussion.

We also take heat safety seriously, especially during the hot Texas months. PPYSA follows UIL guidelines for practicing in the heat, including appropriate considerations for heat, hydration, rest, and acclimatization. Our coaches are expected to prioritize the health and safety of athletes over practice schedules or competition.

From proper equipment and safe playing environments to educated coaches and responsible game-day practices, we take every opportunity to protect our athletes and promote their well-being. We believe creating a safe sports environment is a shared responsibility among our coaches, volunteers, parents, officials, and athletes.

Safety also goes beyond preventing injuries. It means teaching good sportsmanship, encouraging respect, supporting positive behavior, and making sure every child feels welcomed and valued.

Our goal is simple: keep our young Bearcats safe, supported, and enjoying the game. Because when our athletes feel safe, they can focus on what youth sports are all about—building confidence, friendships, character, and a lifelong love of sports.
